February 14, 1964 -- March 29, 1998
Dr. Dunming Sun was a talented scientist who had a good hand and a clear mind.
He lived a meaningful life, short but full. He will always be remembered as a dependable friend,
a loving husband and a kind father.
Dr. Dunming Sun died of
Aneurysm Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) at Robert-Wood-Johnson University Hospital.
His funeral was held on March 31, 1998 in New Jersey. He was buried in his hometown, Bengbu,
China on April 19, 1998.
He was a graduate student in Department of
Rutgers,The State University of New Jersey,
Millie Georgiadis's group in
Waksman Institute of Microbiology. He was honored the Degree of
Doctor of Philosophy
by Rutgers University on May 21, 1998.
Dr. Sun got his BS and MS degree from Department of Applied Chemistry
(8112), University of Science and Technology of China
(USTC)in 1986 and 1989. He worked five years in the National
Laboratory of Computer Chemistry(LCC) of the
Chinese Academy of Sciences. He had published more than thirty scientific papers before he came
to the US.
